Hand-Drawn Illustrations for Scott Galloway
Based on the visual language I created for a weekly column (No Mercy/No Malice, authored by L2's Founder/NYU Stern Professor Scott Galloway), I illustrated his two books, NYT Bestseller The Four (based on "the hidden DNA of Amazon, Apple, Facebook, and Google") and his most recent publication, The Algebra of Happiness (based on a composite of narrative portions referenced in his column). The illustration style echoes Scott's objectively critical observations and the reflective nostalgia that informs his wisdom – the poignancy of his writing is strengthened by his uniquely decisive voice. This is why I hand draw the illustrations with a confident stroke in sharpie, which maintains a whimsical and permanent quality in the rugged iterative style. The illustrations often end up more refined than is true to the style–due to complexity or true likeness–and digital illustration is employed.
